Flipping out is an American reality TV series centred on Jeff Lewis, a designer in Los Angeles, California. Well the first show was pretty much about Lewis’ flip projects and how he renovated homes and resold them for a profit. However, the show grew to become one of the most watched property shows and Lewis started to now focus more on home decorating consulting business than on flipping houses.
His team consists of his project manager Jenni, housekeeper Zoila, business manager and boyfriend Gage, and his other helpers and assistants. Jeff and his team decorate and flip homes in their signature chaotic, witty and at some point, caustic style.
One thing that makes this TV show get so much attention is because most fans consider Jeff Lewis a high-maintenance friend and a co-worker. Being one of the most colorful real estate speculators in Los Angeles, he showcases his skills and ensures his dedicated team bring out the best America has ever seen.
The show became relevant especially during the downturn in the housing market. It is at this time that Lewis lessened his interest in flipping properties and instead focused on his design consulting business. But whether he is designing or flipping, one thing is evident throughout the shows—he relies on his team to help him get the projects done.
Sometimes the show reveals how displaced a staff can be and how the home owner can be on a different page with the designers, but at the end of the day have a home they can all love. Jeff will always consult Jenni and Zoila on the décor choices. He is also the first person to always freak out when things don’t go as planned especially if he has put many hours into the project. But despite the different ideas each member of the team shares, the show ends with an outstanding home.
